H.E. Dr. Anwar Ali Al Mudhaf

Minister of Finance, and Minister of State for Economics Aairs and Investments

H.E. Dr. Anwar A. Al-Mudhaf was appointed as Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economics Aairs and Investments on January 17, 2024 by Amiri Decree 1/2024.

His Excellency is the former Chairman of the Board of Directors and Corporate Governance Committee at Ahli United Bank K.S.C.P.. Dr. Al Mudhaf has more than 25 years of experience in banking and nance. Additionally, he is currently the Director of the Board of Governors of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.

Dr. Al Mudhaf has formerly served as a Lecturer in Finance, Investment , and Financial Institutions at The College Of Business Administration – Kuwait University; he was also the Chairman & CEO of Al-Razzi Holding Company (from 2005 until 2019) , Chairman of Sama Educational Company; Chairman of the International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong; Director of the Board of Directors of the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS); Advisor to the Finance and Economic Aairs Committee at Kuwait’s Parliament; Member of the Economic Task Force dealing with the implications of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis on Kuwait’s economy; Vice Chairman in Al Mal Investment Company, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Member of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Applied Education. Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banco ABC Brasil (from 2004 until 2022), Director of the Board for Arab Banking Corporation Bahrain.

Dr. Al Mudhaf holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Peter F. Drucker Graduate School of Management, Claremont Graduate University, California, U.S.A.
